Solid app, minor improvements

I recently subscribed to the annual plan for Yoga Wake Up. The overall quality of the guided meditation and restorative yoga sessions is quite high, and the app is generally intuitive. I appreciate the variety of options, from breathing exercises to sun salutations. However, I did find that the search function within the app could be a bit more robust; sometimes it's hard to find specific teachers or styles. Customer service was responsive when I inquired about billing, which was a plus. It's a good alternative to competitors, but a more refined content discovery would elevate it further.

Good value, easy to get started

I was looking for something to replace my usual alarm clock and thought I'd give Yoga Wake Up a try. I went for the annual subscription after the 7-day free trial, which was pretty easy to sign up for. The app downloaded quickly, and finding the yoga for beginners sessions was straightforward. The audio quality for the expert led audio classes is clear, and the alarm clock integration worked perfectly on my iPhone. I had a quick question about changing my wake up time, and their online support section gave me the answer right away. Delivery isn't really a thing for an app, but the service was instant. Overall, a solid experience.

Really liked the morning sessions

So I finally got around to trying Yoga Wake Up after hearing about it. I picked an annual subscription. I really liked the energizing flows, they actually helped me get out of bed feeling decent. The app was easy to use, didn't have any trouble finding what I wanted. It just felt good to start the day with something like that instead of a jarring alarm. Definitely worth it for me.

Consistent app, reliable for mornings

I've been using Yoga Wake Up for a couple years now. My latest annual subscription renewal was just as smooth as always. The quality of the morning yoga sequences and guided meditation is reliably good. It's why I keep coming back instead of trying other apps like Headspace or Calm. It just works, every day.

Great deal on annual plan

I was looking for a good price on a wellness app and found Yoga Wake Up. I took advantage of the annual subscription discount they had running. It was definitely a better deal than going monthly, and way cheaper than some other options like Alo Moves. The gift cards section also looked interesting for future. For the price I paid, getting access to all the morning yoga sequences and stress relief sessions felt like a real win.

Does anyone know if there's usually a Black Friday sale for this app? Trying to decide if I should jump on the annual plan now or wait a bit.

E Elena J. 1 month ago
Yeah, they usually do something around Black Friday and Cyber Monday. I got my annual sub last year during that time for a decent discount.

I think they always have a holiday sale. If you're not in a rush, waiting could save you some cash on the annual plan.

Thinking of trying this out, but I'm super new to yoga. Is it actually beginner-friendly or more for people who already know poses?

A Amber 2 months ago
Oh yeah, totally beginner friendly. I started with zero yoga experience and they explain everything really well. Lots of sequences are just simple stretches you can do in bed.

For sure! They have specific 'beginner' sessions and even the regular ones are pretty chill for the most part. It's not like you're expected to do headstands first thing in the morning lol.

Hey, thinking of getting this for my mom. If I buy her a gift card, how does she actually redeem it? Is it easy to use or super complicated in the app?

S Steve J. 2 months ago
It's pretty straightforward, afaik. She'd get a code and just enter it on their website or in the app store, depending on how you buy it. They have instructions.

I've gifted it before! You get a code, and they just enter it when they sign up for their subscription. Not fiddly at all.

compared to headspace or calm, how does yoga wake up stack up? I mostly want something to help me start the day right, not necessarily for deep meditation all the time.

P Priya Kim 1 month ago
It's pretty different. Headspace/Calm are more traditional meditation, this is more active 'yoga in bed' stuff. If you want to *move* a little right when you wake up, YWU is better. They do have some meditation too, but it's not the main focus like the others.

I use both. YWU is great for that gentle morning stretch and getting your body moving. Headspace for deeper meditation later. They complement each other, but for a 'start the day right' alarm, YWU wins for me.

So, how long are the actual sessions? I don't want to wake up an hour earlier just to do yoga before work.

W Wendy 2 months ago
Most of them are pretty short, like 5-15 minutes. Some longer ones, but you can pick what fits your morning. Definitely not an hour usually.
